Signature bowling fundraiser to be held Jan. 27 in Ashwaubenon

GREEN BAY, Wis. (Jan. 23, 2018) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Wisconsin invites the community to participate in Bowl For Kids’ Sake, the agency’s signature fundraiser combining bowling and team spirit with a pledge drive to support youth mentoring, on Saturday, Jan. 27.

The event celebrates the 40th anniversary of Bowl For Kids’ Sake with a theme that takes participants back to 1978 with costumes, games, décor and more. Company and team sponsorships combined with individual bowlers who raise pledges will help raise money to support programming this year.

“Our mentoring works. It works to help broaden children’s perspectives and starts a child on the path to fulfilling their potential and succeeding in school and life,” says Katie Hess, executive director. “Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the perfect way for individuals and companies to make an impact on our community — it only takes a little bit of effort to raise the money that is vital to our program’s success!”

The event is made possible by lead sponsor Green Bay Packaging, and major sponsors Fox Communities Credit Union, the Green Bay Packers, Schneider, Schreiber, WFRV TV and Star 98 FM.

Most participants are not regular bowlers. Bowl For Kids’ Sake all about having fun for a good cause. Participants can register to bowl and collect pledges online or request a pledge form to track fundraising.

Bowlers receive two free games of bowling (shoes and ball rental included), food, a T-shirt and chances to win prizes. Two shifts of teams will bowl at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each bowler collects a minimum of $50 in pledges or a team of five collects a minimum of $250. Teams and individual bowlers are encouraged to register in advance, but can register at the event and join the next shift of bowlers.
