U.S. Marines, Big Brothers Big Sisters to Select Gifts for Littles

GREEN BAY, Wis. (Dec. 3, 2018) — The U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots program will make this holiday season more special for area children thanks to a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin (BBBSNEW) and Shopko. Marines and BBBSNEW staff will shop for gifts for 148 Littles and their siblings between 9 and 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Shopko, 301 Bay Park Square.

The event highlights the Marines Toys for Tots program, which provides new toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children throughout the United States, including children enrolled in BBBSNEW’s mentoring programs. The Littles and their siblings include boys and girls ranging in age from 17 months to 18 years.

The gifts selected during Wednesday’s shopping event will be distributed during BBBSNEW’s holiday party on Dec. 13. Party attendees will include Bigs and Littles and Littles’ families, who will be treated to dinner courtesy of a generous donor, visits with Santa, gifts and family activities.
