Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Hires First African American CEO

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) has made a historic hire in the new president and CEO, Artis Stevens. After a long search for the right candidate, BBBSA looks forward to the vast experience and skills that Stevens will bring into his new position.
Stevens comes to BBBSA after serving as the senior vice president and chief marketing officer of the National 4-H Council. Prior to his service with 4-H, Stevens served as an executive to Boys and Girls Club of America. He brings with him a strong work ethic, strategic marketing and fundraising experience, and a desire to see BBBSA grow to its full potential.
Stevens shares that he will use his position to help serve more kids who need a mentor in their life. He says, “We know that they have the potential, we know that they have the spirit to succeed, we see that.” He, along with all of BBBSA, is looking forward to the coming years and the strides that will be taken on both a national and individual agency level.
As the first African America CEO, Stevens is helping to break barriers for young kids of color and is able to provide a positive example of what can be achieved. BBBSA is excited to have Stevens leading the organization into the coming years!
